As kids, all within four years of each other, the three of us sat on a bench (rather than individual chairs) at the dinner table. I think it helped our parents keep track of us, wipe up spills more easily, and move us as a unit if needed. Looking back, I consider it genius, so much so that I have included the Chamberlain Three Seat Banquette in our collection. Its not just for children, of course: It would nestle perfectly in a smaller breakfast room or even in a foyer for putting on and slipping off shoes. It goes with our Chamberlain Dining Chair.
