The production of the finest possible handcrafted, forged cutlery is and always has been the driving philosophy of our company. For four generations the Gde family has neither compromised on nor wavered from this credo. Today Gde is proud to continue the centuries old tradition of quality knifemaking for which the town of Solingen is justly world famous.
This paring knife is primarily made for larding meat, as the tip allows accurate and precise cuts. At the same time, this knife can also be used to decoratively cut fruit and vegetables. Larding and garnishing knives can confidently be described as small all-purpose knives, for fine cutting work such as peeling onions or apples.
The GudeDelta knife series is hand-forged entirely with a drop hammer, asusual at the traditional knife manufacturer in Solingen, Germany. The bladeis made of stainlesschrome-molybdenum-vanadium knife steel and hand-sharpened. The raw blank is further processed in more than 40 largely manual operations. The grip inlays consist of grenadilla, a savannah wood from which musical instruments (flute, oboe) are usuallymade. The handle inlays are raised and therefore look particularly noble. The solid execution and the generously used materials give the knives of the GudeDelta series an extraordinary balance and make cutting a special experience. The classic handle shapes, which has been in use for over 100 years, has been retained – enlarged for the smaller knives.
